The Kit includes all necessary parts to safely and securely mount your RAK or MNTD Hotspot Miner outdoors.
For a given location, setting up a high-performance antenna outside your house is probably the single most important method to maximize HNT rewards. To avoid running a long coaxial cable, which causes signal loss, it would be ideal if you could mount the hotspot outside too, as close to the antenna as possible. This is where an outdoor enclosure becomes necessary.
Designed to withstand the toughest environments, RAK Outdoor Enclosures are professional-grade, IP67 waterproof, rugged devices that will truly protect your miners and gateways. Made out of aluminum, this enclosure has been widely deployed around the world, for both home and commercial applications.
This is a massive kit that includes all accessories, including a PoE injector and a PoE splitter with USB-C output for your RAK miner. A PoE injector is a device that allows you to run just one Ethernet cable to carry both network data (internet) and electricity to power your hotspot. A PoE splitter stays inside the enclosure, and "splits" it into Ethernet and electricity again.
Note 1: The provided PoE Injector and Splitter are 10/100Mbps devices, not Gigabit (1000Mbps) capable. Most routers and switches can auto detect 10/100/1000. However, if you intend to use Gigabit only, you will need to source a third-party Gigabit capable PoE injector and splitter.
Note 2: This enclosure provides a perfect fit for RAK and MNTD hotspots. However, many users have made slight modifications and used it to house other Helium miners. If you're interested, please search for DIY videos as the manufacturer doesn't provide any documentation or warranty for doing so.
